Please Support me as I Change Gears to Change Lives!
On October 20th, I will be riding in Spin For Kids to raise money for Camp Twin Lakes, an incredible organization that provides camp programs for children with serious illnesses, disabilities, and other life challenges. In 2018, Camp Twin Lakes served over 10,000 campers, levereged support from 3,500 volunteers, and subsidized 70% ($550/week) of the direct camp costs for every camper served.
Why I Ride
This will be my fifth year as a rider for Spin For Kids and the event is truly one of my favorite days of the entire year because it combines two of my passions — cycling and Camp Twin Lakes.
Over the last few years, I've picked up triathlons as hobby. I'm a member of the Atlanta Triathlon Club and completed my second Ironman Chattanooga 70.3 race last May. For me, cycling (and the sport of triathlon overall) has been a rewarding way to stay in shape, push my limits and challenge myself — many of the same lessons Camp Twin Lakes teaches its campers.
I've been involved with Twin Lakes for almost a decade. I served as a summer staff member at Rutledge in 2011, both of my parents have been volunteer nurses at for week-long summer camps and my younger brother was a camper at Camp Infinity. Since moving back to Atlanta in 2015, I've been involved with CTL YALL. Camp Twin Lakes has deep personal connection to my entire family.
Every year, for one Sunday in mid-October, I get to combine these two passions and it’s awesome. What’s also unique about Spin For Kids is that it’s not a race — there aren’t any times or places that you’re worried about. It’s just a picture-perfect fall day in the South and as you’re on your ride, you get to talk to and interact with others who are just as passionate about the mission of Twin Lakes as you are.
Why You Should Sponsor Me
100% of the money you donate goes directly to campers at Camp Twin Lakes, so your gift will truly make a difference in a child's life! I'm taking the challenge to ride and fundraise to give children an incredible Camp experience, and I hope you'll support me as I change gears to change lives!
