Welcome to My Personal Page!
Kate's Club is an organization that empowers and supports children and teens who have been faced with the death of a parent or sibling. It offers therapeutic, social, and recreational activities to support a child's grief journey. Camp Good Mourning brings these amazing kids together in a traditional camp setting to enjoy activities, friendship and to learn how to deal with their grief in a positive way. Kate's Club and all the activities, including this camp, are 100% free to families thanks to donations from nice people like you!
On October 15th, I will be riding in Spin For Kids to raise money for Camp Twin Lakes, an incredible organization that provides camp programs for children with serious illnesses, disabilities, and other life challenges. In 2016, Camp Twin Lakes served over 10,000 campers, levereged support from 3,500 volunteers, and subsidized 70% ($550/week) of the direct camp costs for every camper served.
Why I Ride
Great sort-of question fundraising page! If you know me, you know I strongly dislike bike riding and would prefer to be on the cheer squad, but you also know that I LOVE Kate's Club. When I was 16, my dad died. I understand how challenging it can be for a child to face their grief and the importance of empowering them after the death of a loved one.
Every $110 I raise funds a day of camp for a Camp Twin Lakes camper.
